Overview and Mission:

In the summer of 1992, Carl Hall – a member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune – brought together Tampa Bay's six major krewes for a planning luncheon, and the Inter-Krewe Council was created. Those founding members were:

Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune
Krewe of the Knights of Sant’ Yago
Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla
1st USV Cavalry Regiment - Rough Riders
Krewe of Venus
Latin American Fiesta Association

From the beginning, the Council’s purpose has been to foster a spirit of cooperation and camaraderie among the member krewes and to provide a forum for information about the parades and other krewe-related activities.

Today, there are 57 members of the Inter-Krewe Council, and their representatives meet at least once a quarter for luncheon meetings or evening socials, hosted by various member krewes. Carnivàle, the annual IKC social event held each August, brings together all the krewes for a great night of food and fun, music and dancing, gambling, games, and great contests.

The IKC maintains an updated membership roster and an annual events calendar of major krewe events. In addition, an online bulletin board is being designed/developed to provide an up-to-date listing of the ongoing social and fundraising activities that are sponsored by individual krewes and open to other member krewes.
